It really is quite a selection. To choose an avatar you click your profile at top of page and then click avatar. You can either choose one of the house avatars of cats or scan the gallery that is available, there are several categorys. Once you find one you like, select it and scroll to bottom of page and add it. And yes you can change it whenever the mood suits you.
